ABOUT FIBERS

Garment materials have been nurtured over a long history, evolving alongside human life.
We respectfully introduce the unique features and inherent appeal of each material, reflecting on its journey through time.

Cotton

cotton
Cotton is a natural plant fiber harvested from the cotton boll (cotton flower) of the Malvaceae family’s Gossypium genus.

Cherished globally since ancient times for its soft texture and high absorbency, cotton is an indispensable material in daily life. It’s used in countless products, including T-shirts, shirts, socks, and towels.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the use of sustainable cotton, such as organic cotton.

Acrylic

acrylic
Acrylic is a type of synthetic fiber derived from petroleum. It’s known for being lightweight, soft, and having excellent heat retention properties.

Because its appearance and texture are very similar to wool, it’s sometimes referred to as “artificial wool.”
Acrylic is widely used in products where warmth is essential, such as sweaters, scarves, and blankets.

Nylon

ナイロン
Nylon is a synthetic fiber derived from petroleum and was the world’s first industrially produced synthetic fiber.

When it was first developed, originally from coal, it debuted with the famous slogan, “Finer than a spider’s web, stronger than steel.”
Because it is lightweight, highly strong, and incredibly durable, Nylon is used extensively in a wide range of applications, from apparel to industrial materials. Its flexibility and elasticity make it an essential material for products like socks, sportswear, and innerwear.

Polyester

ポリエステル
Polyester is a type of synthetic fiber primarily derived from petroleum and is the most widely produced fiber in the world.

It offers excellent strength, durability, and dimensional stability, and is widely used in applications ranging from apparel and interior furnishings to industrial materials. As it is resistant to wrinkling and dries quickly, it is an ideal material for everyday use. In recent years, environmentally friendly recycled polyester has also been increasingly utilized.

Wool

ウール
Wool is a natural fiber derived from the hair of sheep, recognized as a premium material for its excellent heat retention and elasticity.

With its plush texture and elegant luster, wool is widely used in items such as suits, sweaters, and coats.
It is the quintessential animal fiber, combining the comfort and functionality unique to a natural material.

Rayon

レーヨン
Rayon is a regenerated fiber made from naturally derived cellulose (primarily wood pulp).

Because it is chemically regenerated from a plant-based source, it is also sometimes referred to as a “semi-synthetic fiber.”
It is characterized by its supple feel, lustrous appearance, and elegant, silk-like texture.

Linen / Hemp (Bast Fibers)

麻
Linen/Hemp (Asa) is a natural fiber harvested from the stems of plants and is among the oldest materials used by humanity.

It is particularly suitable for summer clothing and home furnishings because it is lightweight, highly breathable, and offers a refreshing cool feel.
There are various types, including flax (Linen) and ramie (Ramie), which are selected based on the intended use. In Europe, both linen and ramie were commonly used as clothing fabrics until the 19th century.

Cupro

キュプラ
Cupro is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton linter, the short, fuzzy fibers surrounding the seeds of the cotton plant.

It is characterized by its naturally-derived softness and an elegant, silk-like luster. Cupro also offers excellent moisture absorption and release properties, helping to keep the wearer comfortable.
It is a material that combines a sense of premium quality with high functionality, primarily used in linings and high-end apparel.

Polyurethane

ポリウレタン
Polyurethane is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional stretch and recovery properties.

It has the ability to stretch like rubber and snap back into shape, providing a comfortable and secure fit.
It is rarely used alone; instead, it is primarily blended with other fibers like nylon, polyester, and cotton. This makes it widely used in stretch fabrics, sportswear, socks, and innerwear.

Acetate

アセテート
Acetate is a semi-synthetic fiber made from naturally derived components, primarily cellulose from wood pulp.

It is known for its silk-like luster, smooth texture, and excellent color brilliance. With high drapeability, it is widely used in linings, blouses, dresses, and scarves to create an elegant look. While it is moisture-absorbent, it is vulnerable to heat and friction, so care is required when handling it.

Silk

シルク
Silk is a natural, premium fiber produced from the cocoons of silkworms.

It is characterized by its natural luster and smooth, luxurious feel, along with excellent properties for both moisture absorption and heat retention.
Lightweight and highly breathable, silk is a comfortable material that feels cool in the summer and warm in the winter.Possessing an elegant sheen and beautiful drapeability, it is widely used in dresses, blouses, and scarves.
